The Bell House Story

From a home to a restaurant, serving delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere

The current Bell House structure was originally built in 1902 as a “home” to Dr. & Mrs. E.B. Smith. In 1941, it was bought by Guy Downs Realty & the Armstrong Agency, who transformed the house into an office building.

The bell that sits in front of the Bell House Restaurant was made by William Kaye & Co. in Louisville, Kentucky, in the mid-1800s. It began as the city’s fire bell that sat on top of the firehouse in the town square. When the firehouse was remodeled in the 1950s, the bell needed to be moved. James Hackworth was on the City Council and he offered to give the bell a new home on the front lawn of the Armstrong Agency.

In March of 2007, the house was purchased & restored by Robert J. Andriot and Sue Andriot who then transformed it into the wonderful restaurant it is today.

The bell now adorns the front of the Bell House Restaurant and is rung daily to celebrate the joy of delicious food!

Our Kitchen Staff work together to provide quality and delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts.  We use fresh and high quality ingredients to create our homemade recipes.

Ashton's Favorites are Spinach Artichoke Crostini, Chicken Parmesan, and Brownie with Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup and Caramel. 

Brent's Favorites are Seared Scallops with Lemon Garlic Beurre Blanc, Lightly Breaded Sea Bass with Lemon Garlic Beurre Blanc, and Chocolate Amaretto Cake Chef's Way!
